My Week in Pictures

Good Sunday Afternoon,

I can't say this is my week entirely but its tids & bits from my week! I didn't have anything planned for today but we are getting some really crumby weather around these parts so I thought why not continue my blogging streak and stop by and share some pictures.

Sadly our weekend had kind of been a bust, its been SUPER humid and rained off and on. Today they are calling for thunderstorms and its so unbearably humid out there I would be shocked if we didn't get one.. which I would love because there is nothing better then a good storm! I foresee my day including the start of The Fault in our Stars, I have been dying to read this book forever and am obviously way behind in the times just starting it now.. but I am fine with that. I think an afternoon coffee may be needed as well.

The other night we made our weekly trip to the grocery store, which I obviously HATE but when we got out of the grocery store on the way home the sunset was absolutely gorgeous it really reminded me of home. I will say that we are fortunate to get beautiful sunsets here, especially over the water and from I hear from Mel beautiful sunrises.. those however I don't mind missing!

Friday Mel, Lindsey all the kiddos and I went into Hoboken for kiddie haircuts and then walked back. It was really warm out but I really love the walk along Washington Street in Hoboken and then along the boardwalk back to the apartment and it was really a gorgeous day.

On the way back we made a stop at a park in Newport and Ava was sleeping so her and I tucked away in the shade while everyone else played. She woke up while we were sitting there and let me tell you how much I love post nap times with little ones. I wondered would she be unsure of her surroundings and anxious for her Mama but she came out and cuddled with me before doing inventory on my purse and then taking selfies. This girl, I tell ya.. she warms my heart!

Selfies are so much fun, grabbing for the phone is too!

As I mentioned the weekend has kind of been a busy, with the crap weather we really haven't been doing much. Yesterday afternoon we made our way over to the grocery store (for someone who hates that place I seem to go there a lot right?) and got a few things for dinner and a Dunkin Donuts coffee! We got home and hung out for awhile and then all the sudden we heard this strange noise.. said strange noise turned out to be the fire alarm... fabulous! Turns out there was actually a small fire of sorts I guess!

When this guy first turned on this hydrant the water was like chocolate milk.. DISGUSTING!

The worst part about this whole fire thing was we were in the middle of cooking dinner and were starving! Jason's pizza was basically finished but I had yet to start mine and was not happy about having to wait!

Clearly Jason was ravenous when we came in and his pizza took the brunt of it!

My pizza was fantastic!! We have been buying this artisan pizza crusts at BJ's and they are more then big enough for a personal size pizza. I like this idea because one it cooks really quickly, two you get to choose what you want on it because Jason and I would definitely put different things on and three its a nice change for dinner besides ordering pizza.. and let me tell you I love pizza.

So that's really our scoop, I was hoping to go to Target or something today just to get out of the house but I didn't get a very encouraging response when I talked to Jason about it so I don't plan on getting dressed today if I am not leaving to go anywhere.

I hope you are all having a great weekend, I have high hopes the weather will be better this week and I have more blog posts planned!!

Nail Polish

Good Saturday Morning,

Who would have thought I could even make it here on a weekend? NOT ME!! I have been trying really hard to plan posts and if possible write them the day before when I have time and then just post them the next morning. Its a little harder to manage on weekends but so far writing in the day during the week has been working out great.

Today I thought I would pop in and talk about nail polish, kind of random I suppose but none the less worth mentioning as I think in some way, shape or form we can all relate or at least have an opinion! The women that is.

I will start off by saying I only wear nail polish on my toes, for years I have tried getting manicures and even painting my own finger nails (which I am not good at) and I just hate it. It makes my hands feel dirty, my fingers feel heavy, it never lasts more then a day.. if that. I gave up on it a long time ago, its a waste of time and money because I know I don't like it so why bother!

Honestly I never use to wear polish no my toes either, I absolutely hated feet and odds were you didn't even know what my feet looked like because I ALWAYS had socks on. Thankfully I turned that around and now have a love for pedicures! Naturally I love to go and get them but I also like to do them myself!

I don't have many do's and don'ts when it comes to nail polish as I am by no means an expert.. except, I hate blue nail polish. I'm sorry but its true, I don't know why but I have always despised blue nail polish! You will never catch me wearing it.. ever, I (shoot me, I'm sorry) don't think it looks good on anyone really.. its just not my thing.

I do have a problem with the price of nail polish honestly! I suppose it ranges anywhere for $1.00 to $10.00 and latter being absolutely ridiculous! I would like to say that although some bottles are $10.00 they last forever because who has ever finished a bottle of nail polish (has anyone ever done this? and if so who are you?) but it still seems a little outrageous! I mean $10.00 for that itty bitty bottle?

I will tell you what I have learned and someone who is a nail polish expert/ hoarder may disagree but I honestly don't think it matters how much you spend on nail polish as long as you have a good top coat!

I use the OPI top coat, I got a little one in my Birch Box once and I absolutely love it! I can say without a doubt that when I use it my nail polish will not chip and can last weeks without any issues. When I wear it for weeks I still notice its harder to get off with regular nail polish remover.

I have a variety of nail polishes that vary in price and therefore I am sure quality but as long as I use the top coat I truthfully don't notice a difference. Keep that in mind next time you want to shell out $10.00 for a bottle of nail polish!

Having said that I won't lie, I like the expensive nail polish (go figure) because I truly do think they have the best colors. I have a few favorites and a few I am crushing on and so I thought today I would share those with you as well.

One of my all time favorites right now is OPI Cajun Shrimp.

I don't really wear a variety of colors, mostly reds, pinks and things like that! I really like bright colors for the summer and awhile ago when I was at home I came across this one and fell in love! I bought mine HERE at Ulta for $9.50 but I know they can run a little more expensive! This is a color I would use all year round but its fabulous for summer. I am happy with two coats and a top coat!

OPI - Elephantastic Pink

This is another OPI color that I really loved in the store and although I love it when its on it really does take some effort to get the look you see above. Sadly this color seems to take multiple coats to get it opaque and without streaking, I'm not really sure why that is. This is another fantastic color for summer although sadly I can't find a link for you to purchase it! Maybe that's a sign, should we move on?

Nicole by OPI - Razzle Dazzler

This one has a little bit of a story behind it. I do like black nail polish, I don't think it looks gothic or anything on your feet in fact I think its great for fall and winter! It reflects my mood when winter rolls around! Anyways I must have said something because this bad boy (literally) appeared in my stocking one year at Christmas and boy was Jason proud of himself. He not only did good with the nail polish color he was thrilled that my name was on the bottle! WINNING! Honestly I love it, this is definitely one of my favorite nail polishes I own!

This guy is an OPI product but a heck of a lot cheaper! You can buy it HERE at Ulta for $1.99. Score!

Cover Girl Outlast Stay Brilliant - Wine to Five

I think this might be my all time favorite fall nail polish cover! I don't know what color you would call it exactly but to describe it exactly as they do, wine colored. I am really impressed with the Cover Girl nail polishes not by surprise or anything but this is the first one that I have tried and I felt the price was extremely reasonable! I found it HERE on the Cover Girl website for $5.49 but I do believe I bought mine at Target. The above link will also allow you to peruse the plethora of colors they offer. I truly do not believe you would be disappointed with this purchase!

Onto colors I would love to own, shall we?

Cover Girl Outlast Stay Brilliant - My Papaya

To me this color seems very much of a coral and I don't have any in that shade and therefore I want to try it. I don't care much for the idea of something light in the skin tone color family but I believe this has the perfect amount of pink and orange to set it off. I like things that are bright but not tacky and I think this would totally fit the bill, plus its not outrageously price. Check it out HERE on the Cover Girl website!

OPI - Lincoln Park after Dark

I have been swooning over this color for too long! Its not a tacky purple but its not black either which I like! Again I am leaning int fall shades with the season approaching as I feel I currently have my fill of summer colors anyways! I will be buying this color VERY soon because I feel like my life is not complete without it, sadly there is a chance that I might be getting my hopes up for nothing and it may suck.. but I don't think so! Lauren over at the Lauren Elizabeth has talked about loving it and lets be honest, how often do we disagree with her? They have it HERE at Ulta and I am going to bed its the same price at Target!

OPI - Do you Lilac it?

This would be a little out of my comfort zone in regards to colors but I really have fallen in love with it. I LOVE LOVE lilacs, the color is so simple and gorgeous! Although I am not a huge fan of purples I do believe this is soft enough to not be tacky. Agree? If you do buy it HERE for $9.50.

Essie - Haute in the Heat

This is so my color! Jason makes fun of me every time I go for a pedicure because he says I always get the same colors, he may not be wrong about this! While Tanya and I were at Target on Wednesday I saw this baby and she was callin' my name!! I somehow think this may appear in my basket next time I am there, who knows though.. that's just a prediction! They are $8.49 at my local Target and you can purchase them online HERE for the same price!

So that is my scoop on nail polishes, I do not branch out from my comfort zone very often and I am by no means an expert of any sort so this is just my take on things! I experiment with color most often while I am getting a pedicure because if I hate it I still got a foot rub out of the deal and know not to buy it! Nail polish truly lasts forever therefore I don't see it necessary to own 6000 but if you have 6000 I am up to share?

I hope you are all having a fantastic weekend, its suppose to be nice out... have a beer!

Products I Love - July 2014

Well I survived grocery shopping last night and therefore here I am, it was a close one I'm not going to lie but I made it and therefore I am here today to give update y'all on some products I am currently loving!

I wish I could say this was a regular monthly post but sadly its not, with my Birch Box subscription having expired and sadly not renewed I am not longer getting a ton of little products to try and haven't purchased all that many. As I have mentioned previously new products aren't cheap and although someone may recommend something and love it, it may not work for someone else. Everyone's hair and skin are different so I am anxious about buying things and spending the money not knowing if they will work and not wanting them to go to waste. Besides, have I mentioned how expensive the North is? I mean its kind of outrageous!

So these are the products I am currently loving and I really want to share them with you in hopes that you will love them too!!

EOS Hand Lotion in Berry Blossom.

I am a pretty big fan of hand lotion and for some reason my eczema has been pretty bad on my hands lately so I am always looking for a none greasy lotion to have on hand. As I really love the EOS medicated lip balm (in tangerine) while at Bed Bath & Beyond one day I decided to pick up this baby and give it a whirl. I am pretty in love with it, this little beauty resides on my night table and every night after I finish my business on my phone I lather up my hands and arms before going to sleep! I will say that the small is intoxicating and fresh and the lotion is creamy and smooth but not in the least bit greasy... all of these requirements for a top notch lotion!

As I mentioned I got this in the travel products section at Bed Bath & Beyond (if you're wondering why your Bed Bath & Beyond doesn't have an extravagant section of travel/ sample sized products its a great question, mine at home doesn't either and its sad because its freakin' fabulous!). Although that is where I got mine I see them everywhere and they are $1.99 which is next to nothing. I know its a small size but its perfect for your nightstand, purse, diaper bag, etc. I highly recommend this lotion for nurses who are constantly hand washing and using hand sanitizer which will dry you out.. or if you're just like me and hate germs and therefore you wash your hands constantly and you hand sanitizer religiously! This will keep you moisturized and smelling fantastic!

CHI 44 Iron Guard - Thermal Protection Spray

I have been pretty loyal to my heat protector from the Regis Salon for years, it smells tropical and works great so why change something that works right? Well when you run out and don't have a place to get it, you try something new whether you want to or not! So I took to the high end hair product section in Target and opened every option... I had to smell it, then made the decision to read the back from there. Well let me tell you what, as soon as I opened this baby I didn't care what the back said it was a keeper!

This stuff smells like those amazing products they use in the salons, when I spray my hair and then flat iron it I can still smell it all day! Its better then having been to the salon! It doesn't leave my hair greasy or decrease the length of time I can go without washing my hair (I have a dry scalp and in combination with hard water I try and go as long as I can). I find that although I use my flat iron and blow dryer a decent amount my hair is still extremely healthy and I truly believe that is due to a combination of a great conditioner and a good heat protector.

This stuff is a little pricey, apparently you can buy it HERE at Target for $14.99 (must be a southern Target that came up because I paid $18.00 for mine). Hair products are one thing that I will shell out a decent amount of money for because I have a lot of it and anything that will help me maintain it is worth the money as far as I am concerned. Not to mention I feel like my hair products generally last me a great deal of time and therefore I can justify it as I am getting my money worth. If I had to purchase this every week I may look for a cheaper option, but most likely I would give up a Starbucks coffee a week and call it even!

If you use a lot of heat on your locks, check this out!

Philosophy Love swept Perfume

I have been swooning over this since it came out, but at the time I still had perfume left and unfortunately I am just not the person that has more than one perfume at a time, sadly. Either way at the time I had been using Dolce & Gabana's Light Blue for years and was looking for a change. Because I have been loving the Philosophy Purity Made Simple One Step Face Cleanser when Philosophy came out with this perfume I was really excited to try it. On one of my usual trips to Ulta I happened to try it out and fell completely in love!

I am really into fresh scents and this one is perfection! It is very summery and I love a scent that is long lasting and this one definitely fits the bill. I honestly can't say enough good things about it, and its a reasonable price I think! I purchased mine HERE at Ulta for $46.00, perfume can be pricey so I feel this is totally reasonable and of course pretty long lasting as not much is needed to smell great all day! It is my intention to splurge and purchase the shower gel, because why not right?

Next time you are at your local Ulta or Sephora, just try it out.. it might not be for you but it just might!

The Healthy Deodorant - Fresh Vanilla Lemon

OK guys, this is my new favorite of all the products I am currently loving! In case you didn't know, I absolutely HATE deodorant. First of all most of the drug store brands are full of crappy ingredients.. not good! I don't like the way that any of them smell that's for sure and when you get sweaty they smell worse and I hate that even more! For years I have only used Dove the powder fresh scent only because its the only one that I can find tolerable. Over the years I have tried a ton and I just really hated them all so I stuck with the best of the worst and called it even.

Until... Do any of you follow Jacyln Hill? She is a beauty Blogger/Vlogger, you can check out her blog by clicking on her name above and from there you can view her Youtube channel viewing her plethora of videos. Well I was checking out one of her monthly favorites video and she mentioned the healthy deodorant and I was intrigued! She agreed that she wasn't a huge fan of deodorants and this is one that she couldn't live without and would never use another, so obviously I had to try it!

I made my way over to Sephora the day after we returned from Raleigh because I accidentally forgot my deodorant at home, seriously I didn't mean to. I wasn't too keen on spending $14.00 on a deodorant but honestly desperate times call for desperate measures! This summer has been somewhat of a scorcher, especially with all the humidity and so deodorant is important, especially this one!

So I tried this baby out and may I say.. HALLELUJAH!!!!! This stuff is AMAZING! It goes on smoothly, it smells fantastic all day. It doesn't feel like its clogging your pores, nor does it get all over your clothes. I spend the day feeling fresh, clean and smelling great! I honestly cant say enough good things about this deodorant it is absolutely fantastic!

If you are in the need for a new deodorant, head on over to Sephora and check out all the different scents they offer in this amazing product, click HERE if you would like to take a peak now because you just cant contain your excitement!

Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Sleep - Lavender Vanilla Body Cream

Surprise surprise right? I am all about the body creams!! You know that I couldn't be more in love with the stress relief body cream in eucalyptus spearmint and I purchase it all the time, but when it went on sale for $5.00 each I decided I might as well try another kind, insert the sleep body cream!

Again I will pretty much chew my cabbage twice (odd expression that one is) and tell y'all the same things I love about the stress body cream! Its thick and luxurious but not at all greasy! As I have said before its very rare that I will absolutely LOVE something and stick with it going through bottles and bottles but this one is it! I go through one every couple of weeks (which hurts when they are regularly $13.00 a bottle) and I cannot live without it! I lather myself in it every single day after the shower! I love to have a shower and coat my feet in it and wear socks until I go to bed! The smell is too die for with this cream as well and so aromatic!

If you are looking for a lotion that is super moisturizing this baby is calling your name! Naturally the smell is suppose to be soothing and put you to sleep but I use them all the time! Although its not a small size I often have one in my purse, I like to be prepared!

Have I convinced you? If so hop on over to Bath and Body Works RIGHT NOW because all the body creams are on sale for $8.00! It's also only $1.00 for shipping on any orders $25.00 and up! You're welcome!!

Clear Scalp & Hair Beauty Therapy - Intense Hydration/ Deep Hydrating Treatment Mask

Well that was a mouthful!

As I mentioned before I have an extremely dry scalp and hair sometimes, I find it happens when I am dealing with hard water or when I change locations and the water is different. Once I get use to it I just use a really good conditioner and I seem to be all set but New Jersey water (like many other things here) is freakin' terrible! If I let it go and don't jump on the dry scalp thing right away my head will start to bleed, I kid you not!

When we arrived here I knew that I would need to get something but wasn't looking to change out my regular conditioner because I really like how it makes my actual hair feel on a daily basis so I thought it might be a good idea to look into a hair mask because I have never tried them but heard good things. I didn't make it over to Sephora to look around because I can be forgetful so I wrote it on a grocery list and when we were at Target one night I started my search.

As I said I don't really like to spend a fortune on something I am not sure works! Why go out and spend $35.00 on a product and it makes your hair break off and you'll never use it again. I have only heard one or two recommendations so I just thought I would give something a try. I grabbed this at Target one night for $4.99 and absolutely love it. I found that it made a noticeable difference after one use which is always a bonus and as long as I use it once weekly I have been super happy with its results. The product itself smells great, its thick and creamy but does not leave any residue on your scalp or in your hair. Not only did it clear up my dry scalp but it left my hair silkly soft!

I'm sure there are other fantastic masks out there that I haven't tried but for picking something up for $4.99 and never having tried it before I am very happy with it! Check it out HERE at Target if you are interested!

Method Hand Soap - Waterfall

The germaphobe in me is dying to tell you guys about this hand soap! We are usually a soft soap family on account that Jason likes the fish on the front of the bottle, I kid.. kind of. Regardless we usually buy Soft Soap and there is nothing wrong with it but I was really looking for something else. I like the scent variety with Soft Soap and all that jazz but my main concern is the germ killing power!

Last time we were at Target I fought Jason on our usual bathroom soap (I use Dial antibacterial in the kitchen, I have quirks ok.. let it go) and finally got him to agree to try Method. I naturally opened a bunch and smelled them before deciding that waterfall was the way we were going to go. They as well have a huge scent variety but for the options we had at the time this was the one I wanted to try.

I truly feel like you get a little more bang for your buck with this baby, you get more then you would with Soft Soap and I feel like when I use it (same amount) I walk away with my hands feeling cleaner yet still hydrated and that right there is what sold me. We go through a lot of hand soap around here and I would like to know the one I am using is doing the job I want and this one definitely is!

Try it guys, its awesome and you can get it at any grocery store or Target!

So that's my favorites for right now, I think I am going to follow this post (maybe not this weekend) with products I'm swooning over right now, if you've tried them you can let me know what you think of them so I don't go around wasting my money! I hope you have a fantastic weekend, we don't have a lot of plans so we'll probably just hang around the apartment, maybe have dinner out on Saturday and Sunday they are calling for rain so I think we are making BURRITOS! HAPPY DANCE!!!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Thursday Thoughts

I am really trying to get here every single day this week because I feel like its been a long time since I have done though. It was my intention to get here this afternoon and talk about some products that I am absolutely loving lately but after running errands this morning I ended up scrubbing this apartment top to bottom, getting things ready for dinner and then the day just got away from me and I don't have time as those post kind of require a bit of it, besides I can't stay long.. I need to lotion my hands desperately after submerging them in Ajax and various other cleaning products today.

Let me tell you, I hate this apartment. Our bathroom is awful.. not totally awful but to my standards awful. Mostly its just old and I feel like everything is rusting and every time I call maintenance and complain about it they just say that the water is hard here and suck it up. Well I am over that and plan to make a trip to the office tomorrow to see if I have any other options besides said sucking it up, because well... I don't do that well and I'm sick of scrubbing the bathroom.. its a disgusting job in case you weren't sure!

Last night we had a pretty wicked storm! After dinner we met Jason, Mel and Myles outside to give Jason his birthday card (the big 4-0 yesterday) and of course run around with Myles for awhile. Once we parted ways Jason and I headed to the mall because he has been looking for shorts and his inner penny pincher (sp?) has been waiting for a sale. We toured around the whole mall and he ended up getting a pair at Hollister because they are generally better quality and picked up a t-shirt while he was there. Well because the line up for the change room was a mile and a half long he just brought them home.. and of course they didn't fit! This morning I went to take them back and while returning them I was only half paying attention because I was texting Jason's Dad and when I left I realized they reimbursed me for both the shorts and the shirt.. when I only returned the shorts. I then went to Foot Locker to get the other shorts he wanted and they were buy one get one free.. how in the hell do I not get deals like this? I feel like Jason should buy a lottery ticket! I hit up Duane Reade and made my way to Morton Williams (the tolerable grocery store) before heading home!

I thought I would stop by here and share a few photos from the last few days before Jason gets home and dinner must commence. I am feeling pretty accomplished today and therefore I really needed to stop here to continue my streak!

Here are a few pictures from our week...

I so enjoy our nightly walks, its been super hot this week but we have managed to still get out every night and walk around which I love. Our view really never gets old and the water is just so peaceful which is really refreshing in the city! Although I would much rather be at home I will say that when we leave a place there is always something I miss and I think here it will be the water, I love being by the water.

Why am men's basketball shoe? Well please, let me tell you. We have a basketball court here at the apartment and Jason is all about it! He plays often, we play (I'm not that good so I don't know if its considered playing when I go, but none the less I try) and since Jason G moved in and has basketball shoes it has just gotten real. Well last week Jason and Josh were playing and Jason sprained his ankle, it was swollen for a few days and he feels it is because his shoes don't have high enough support.. he could very well just want new shoes but I'll go with it. He said that he really needed high tops (I laughed too..) and asked me to take a look at prices yesterday while I was at the mall. Well this is the only shoe I could find that I wouldn't make considerable fun of Jason for wearing.. we went last night and he tried it on and apparently its just not a good fit. So he is going with some other colorful pair that are way more comical and my humorous side is really looking forward to the laughs I will get out of them. HA!

Jason grilled ribs last night for dinner! We were pretty thrilled the rain had held of that long and as much as I am not crazy about ribs these turned out better then they look! It was so hot being out there, especially with the grill going... the last few days have been absolutely incredibly humid that as soon as you go outside you are dripping in sweat but man were these ribs worth it!

Mel was gracious enough to provide Jason with a wonderful dessert of birthday cupcakes so I was off the hook on that front! All in all it was a great night that ended with a fabulous lightening show and me sleeping better then I have in a very long time! Winning!

So that's my scoop, I will be working on tomorrows blog tonight after we spend our evening at the grocery store, I will probably drink at dinner in preparation for my time there!

Hope you're all having at fantastic Thursday, but if not tomorrow is Friday.. so at least your week is almost over! Silver lining people.. silver lining!

Cheers!

Book Review: The Sins of the Mother

Good Morning,

I did it, last night I finally finished the book I have been talking about! As I have previously mentioned I am a book junkie, there isn't much that I wont read and truthfully enjoy a variety of genres. Sadly New Jersey doesn't seem to be as big of a fan of books as I seeings how they don't seem to have any book stores, therefore my Nook is coming in handy lately.

I go through reading phases, sometimes I read a ton and sometimes I wont pick up a book for awhile. Generally when I get into a groove though I will go through multiple books over a short period of time! I often like fluff reads if I am going through multiple books at a time, I get so into them that most often I will finish them in a day therefore I like it to be a light read.

I have always read Danielle Steele and being so familiar with her books I always enjoy them and fly right through them hoping another one is waiting. Recently when I was flipping through my Nook library I came across The Sins of the Mother (you can check out the synopsis from Goodreads HERE) and I wasn't sure if I had read it or not as I usually clean up my library after I am done reading the books.

As I said I always enjoy Danielle Steele books, I can count on one hand the number of her books that I didn't like. This book definitely did not make that list, I really enjoyed it. I love a book with a good story line and tales that continuously keep you interested.

The book had an excellent story based on a successful business woman and her life as both a business tycoon and mother. Each character in the book seemed to have a distinguished and interesting story lines that all took a turn in the middle of book that kept you intrigued and eager to read on. I will say Danielle Steele has a knack for doing that with her characters in all her books. I appreciate that she also leaves you believing that more than one outcome is possible and likely expected therefore the ending leaves you surprised and throughout you were never feeling like you know what was to come.

This was an excellent book, I would definitely recommend it and thankfully before I could finish it today my Momma sent me her newest one and I cannot wait to start reading it! There are definitely benefits to these Ereaders as you don't have to wait for someone to finish a book and give it to you, you can all read along at once! I plan to start that baby tonight or tomorrow.

***Disclaimer: I wrote this last night while trying to help Jason with out warranty survey for our house, therefore I think now rereading this it kind of sucks and sadly I am not going to rewrite it because I didn't get much sleep last night and I don't want to. I will do better next time, I promise!***

Now I will tell you quickly that last night Jason and I went for a walk to see the fireworks show they were putting on at Ellis Island and as we were walking along the beautiful boardwalk on an unusually hot and humid summer night out comes a HUGE RAT!!! I'm not even kidding you, I had a minor heart attack! At first I thought it was an over sized chipmunk or something, I refused to believe what I was seeing. We lived in New York City for a year and I saw less than a handful of rats and ALWAYS on the subway tracks.. what the hell was this thing doing ON THE BOARDWALK? It seriously ran out and was looking for somewhere to go because there were people everywhere (and somehow I was the only one losing my shit!). I think birds are so dirty, you can imagine what I think of rats.. ugh! The whole rest of our outing I was so on edge waiting for one of those little buggers to run out and bite me or something.

On a good note though the fireworks were good, naturally Jason loved every second of it. I did not take my phone and therefore no pictures, but I figured y'all have had enough of fireworks pictures in the last month!

I hope you all have a great Wednesday!

Happy hump day!!

The Great Burrito Debate

Hello All,

Good lord is it HOT out today!!!! You know I love the heat but today I went out to meet everyone outside and I was literally dripping sweat.. attractive I know! It was literally intolerable out there today, the humidity is WICKED! When we parted ways at the park and I had to force myself to go to the grocery store.. I swear if I could avoid that place I would at any cost and when I got there I remembered why!

I hate grocery shopping, always have sadly its just not my cup of tea. I hate that its always freezing cold in there and most often I feel like I am in everyone's way, having said that since we have gotten here I feel like everyone is in my way and who would have thought that was way worse. Today I had an altercation if you want to call it that because I'm pretty sure this gentlemen had absolutely no idea what I was saying. I made my way through the grocery store, got to the cash and put my items on the conveyor belt thing. Well as I am waiting to pay some older man comes up behind me, places his reusable bag full of groceries on mine and is less then a foot away from me yelling over me to his friend on the other side. First of all, need we review personal space and breath mints? Second of all how rude to put your things on mine, and yell in my ear. He wasn't reading my evil looks apparently so I had to tell him to back the hell up and stop yelling in my ear.. GOOD LORD! Who does that? I kept my hands to myself, I consider this a personal victory.

Anyways my time at the store and outside were over for the day, or until tonight when we make our way towards Ellis Island to watch fireworks. You know how Jason feels about fireworks so he looked up where he could see some next and we are heading over there tonight for 9:15pm. Thankfully its close enough that we can walk down the boardwalk and should be able to see them, Jason is so looking forward to it.

I really wanted to come by today and chit chat about burritos, random? negative. I absolutely LOVE burritos! I have always had a thing for them but going to Peru and eating at the Burrito Bar turned my life upside down, since then I have been on a mission to find one that is comparable and enjoying all the tasting along the way.

In the blog world everyone raves about Chipotle.. and as I just went to the website to link it to y'all I am finding out they have margaritas? I know I've only been once but how did I not know this? I think this post may have just taken a turn. Give me a minute here.

How true is that pretty little banner??

OK I've gotten it together! See that about.. amazing right? Well last weekend Lindsey and I were walking around Hoboken with the girls and I mentioned to her that they had a Chipotle and just as I said it we came around the corner there it was.. so we had to stop. Lindsey knowing what is good for her was all for it and in we went!!

My order went something like this.. Burrito (because although y'all are all about the burrito bowls, I just cant do it.. I'm loyal and all. Anyways I got the carintas (pork), cilantro lime rice, black beans, mild salsa, cheese, guacamole (always splurge for the guac) and some lettuce! This is pretty much my standard burrito. Once at Moe's Jason had the chicken and it looked dry.. I stick with old faithful. I will say I thoroughly enjoyed my burrito, it was fantastic! Having said that, there is a 'But'... they don't give you chips? I mean what gives? When you go to Moe's you get free chips and they have a salsa bar with multiple options to compliment those warm chips! They give them when you stay or get it to go, and their salsa bar had to go cups for the salsa.. winning! I will say that the Chipotle margarita are a bonus but they aren't free chips!

Now shall we talk about Moe's Southwest Grill? I think so!

I'm not going to lie, I live for the homewrecker burrito! I get basically the exact same thing I mentioned above from my Chipotle order and I don't know what it is but they are just so much better! I swear its not because of the free chips, but I am definitely not complaining about those at all. I just feel like Moe's is better, the meat has better flavor, the ingredients are all fresh and beyond tasty.. it is just better! I'm sorry for all you Chipotle lovers, feel free to unfollow me now I will totally understand. If you haven't tried Moe's I will warn you, your life will never be the same, make sure you are ready for that!

Go to Moe's get the Homewrecker burrito, eat the free chips and enjoy all the different kinds of salsa they offer. GO TO MOE'S, if I could I would be there everyday! With that said, if you have the option hit up Barranco, Peru and go to the burrito bar.. it may convince you to never leave!

There you have it, burritos are heaven, Moe's is my happy place and man do I wish Jason shared my affinity for Mexican food.. I'm workin' on him!

I hope you are all having a great Tuesday, and a less humid one then I am! I made a chicken and rice casserole for dinner and am just hanging out this afternoon. I didn't manage to finish my book last night because my Nook died while I was in bed and I didn't know where the charger was so I didn't bother to get out of bed that late and dig through the apartment all while praying I actually brought the thing! It has officially charged though and therefore the reading may commence.

Book review tomorrow? Good chance!
